Topic: Financial Justification and Management of Physical Security Risk Spend
Speaker: John V. Philippi, CPP, CSP, PSP
Title: Senior Global Corporate Security Executive
Time: 5:30pm-6:30pm US CT
Webinar Overview
Physical security is highly visible when events are reported on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. Finance treating security as a technical cost center is not proactive. Security is now a portfolio of risk mitigation investments that impact reputation, asset protection, and liability exposure for CFOs to understand. The session will explore why traditional enterprise risk assessments often fall short when justifying high costs, and how to structure specialized security domains such as executive protection, event security, kidnap preparedness, and to some extent travel risk. The discussion will translate security risk into familiar financial concepts including key person risk, business interruption cost, and downside volatility. The webinar will also address vendor governance and contractual structures as critical financial controls. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for evaluating security investments with greater discipline, predictability, and defensibility in front of boards, auditors, and regulators.
